The Staff
Eric - Owner
A manager at the Lincoln Guide Service in Lincoln, Massachusetts,
seized the opportunity to start his own business when the
lease on the building in which the shop resides (formerly
Pro-Motion), opened to the market in 1997. Believing in Henry
Ford's quote "Whether you think you can or you think
you can't, you are right," and armed with a business
sense, mechanical expertise and dedication to his customers,
he secured the finances and a new business was born.
Chris - Sales Manager/Buyer
Chris has helped in the shop from the very beginning and
shares his love for bicycling with our customers. His experience
with triathlon racing brings a wealth of knowledge of training
and fitness to the business. He is also an expert at fitting
that will ensure peak performance with the bike you choose.
With a background in engineering, Chris has a fascination
with analytical data. So much that he had a digital flex
tester fabricated for flex testing cross country skis. The
Bikeway Source is now the only shop in Massachuesetts with
the ability to flex skis with digital precision. In addition,
Chris coaches one of the top local high school Nordic Ski
teams, for 2007 he had 4 girls and 2 boys named as DCL All

Randall - Head
Mechanic
Randall or Randy to all our customers. Came to work with
Eric from Lincoln Guide Service. As daily commuter he knows
lights, fenders and clothing in and out. He is also known
for knowing every backroad of the area by heart. Click

The Name
The Bikeway Source is so named because it is at the head
of the Minuteman Bikeway in Bedford Massachusetts. The Minuteman
Bikeway is the 500th converted rail trail in the USA, extending
a scenic path, designed for human powered travel exclusively,
from Cambridge to Bedford. We are the "Source"
because with us, you can get solid advice from people who
actively pursue the sports they represent. The staff of
the Bikeway Source seeks to educate and inform offering
customers our wealth of knowledge and expertise. Our primary
goals are to help our community realize the importance of
exercise in achieving a healthy life and to help our customers
have fun in the process. We are in the business because
we love the sports in which we participate and we respect
our customers as colleagues and fellow enthusiasts.
The Beginning
The business was born out of an enthusiasm for outdoor recreation
and hard work. It is a labor of love to promote sports that
we believe in and have participated in ourselves for so
long. It was with that drive and the business model "Enthusiasts
before Businessmen" that we entered this endeavor.
The Mission
Eric's personal aspiration is to provide the Boston
area with the best possible service and rentals. He has
assembled an experienced and highly trained staff who are
also in the business because they love the sports. The Bikeway
Source has an uncommon business philosophy: "A business
exists to serve the people, not the bottom line. If the
Bikeway Source fails at this, then it fails as a business,
no matter what the net income is."
