Bicycles - Commuter Bikes

BMX/Freestyle | Childrens | Hybrid | Mountain | Road | Commuter

There are a myriad of road bikes to choose from these days. But we have tried to simplify them into several categories based on frame design for you to choose from.

Traditional - These bikes have the "European" inspired geometry. The top tube of the bike is parallel to the ground and the seat tube is often the same length as the top tube. Sizing of these bikes is in centimeters and is the length of the seat tube from the bottom bracket to center of where the top and seat tube meet.

Semi-Compact - These bikes are similar to the traditional road bikes, but the top tube is slightly sloping down from the head tube to the seat tube. Sizing is in centimeters and is the length of the top tube center to center.

Compact Performance - These bikes have a top tube that has a lot of slope and are measured in terms of XS, S, M, ML, L and XL. This frame design allows for a larger range of riders to fit on a specific frame. i.e. a riders that fit in on a 56-58cm traditional road frame will fit on a ML sized frame. Because of the smaller frame design, frames can be made lighter, more responsive and more aerodynamic.

Compact Comfort - Similar to the compact performance bikes in sizing and features, but with a slightly higher front end. The higher front end gives the rider a more upright position offering a little more comfort.

Marinoni Bikes

Custom frames made just for you to the specifications of your body. What more could you want? That is what Marinoni is all about. Come into our shop, and we'll size you to a custom made frame like the Piuma, which is our best selling Marinoni frame. It is made with Columbus Foco steel tubing, a super light and absorbent steel alloy. The Piuma rides like a high end Titanium frame at about 1/2 of the cost. Another frame similar to the Piuma but more affordable is the Leggero. Other features that come with these frames are a lightweight Columbus carbon fork and any colors you want (up to 3). Marinoni also makes super lightweight aluminum frames of Columbus Starship tubing. These bikes are featherweight 1100 gram frames which when coupled with lightweight parts make a 16 lb. complete bicycle. For more info visit the Marinoni website: marinoni.qc.ca

Litespeed Road Bikes

Titanium has it all; light weight, strength, flexibility, longevity. Litepeed titanium makes the most technologically advanced frames available. Litespeed manufactures their own titanium tubing forming, milling, and shaping to achieve the desired characteristics for optimal results. No other titanium frame maker takes the painstaking care in the manufacture and engineering of their frames. Litespeeds many years of experience and volume of manufacture make them the best choice for the ultimate ride. Litespeed makes bicycles that you dream about more affordable too.

Cannondale Road Bikes

Many people are familiar with Cannondale's road bikes of the past and assume they will have a harsh aluminum ride. Things have changed at Cannondale. Their new line of aluminum road bikes are as compliant, if not more, than many good steel frames. Their new CAAD9 frame technology allows for a very strong and light aluminum frames, but at the same time, a very comfortable ride. All their frames use their super light Optimo Si frame and their innovative "hourglass" butted seatstays that allow for lateral rigidity but also have excellent vertical compliance for comfort.

In addition to Aluminum, Cannondale is now building frames out of Carbon Fiber with their System6 and Synapse line.

Felt Bicycles

As with many great bicycle companies their beginnings are in California where the sun shines more often and you can ride all year. Felt has been making road bicycles for over a decade and is a very popular brand out west. As is our way we often carry bicycles that we really like but may not be as well known here in New England. This is the case with Felt. We recognized the quality and value they offer and decided we may have to be a little ahead of our time (as we were with Santa Cruz Mtn. Bikes!) to bring the best to our customers. Come in and test one and you will see why they are one of the most popular brands in California.

Giant Road Bikes

Giant bicycle is the largest manufacturer of bicycles in the world! When you buy a Giant you are buying a bicycle from the manufacturer not just a marketing company as most bicycle companies are! The difference to you is this: You will get at least the quality if not better than the companies who Giant manufactures bicycles for (namely Trek and Specialized) for less $$!!! Doesn't that sound good to you? We spend our time finding the best quality/$$ ratio you can so when you come to us that is what you can count on! We make your task of finding the perfect bicycle easy. Come see what Giant has to offer: From Lightweight aluminum to state of the art carbon.

We also RENT mountain bikes. Check out our rentals page.
