We
are the Cross Country Ski experts for the Boston area! If you want the best equipment
and advice available we can help! We will teach you how skis work and how to properly
wax and maintain them. And if you still haven't learned enough in the store we
can teach you on the snow everything from classical technique to Telemark turns.
We carry both racing and touring skis from the best manufacturers and with our
wealth of knowledge can expertly fit you with the ski that best suits your needs.
Some of the brands we carry are: Atomic,
Swix, Salomon,
and Exel. We sell and
use Swix Wax for all our ski tune-ups and carry their hats, gloves, and waxes.
Hot Box - We will
be able to fully saturate the base of your skis quickly and safely. Layering on
the wax with an iron is now a thing of the past! All race skis purchased from
us will be hot boxed to give you an advantage come race time. You can also bring
your skis in for us to hot box from long term summer storage.
Ski
Service - At the Bikeway Source, we offer a comprehensive list of services
to care for your cross country skis. So from basic clean and wax to applying specialty
waxes for races to shave seconds off your next race. Flex
Testing - We are able to flex test all our skis to help pick the best
ski for you. Not all skis are created equal, 2 skis might be the same length but
their camber can vary enough to make it the wrong ski for your weight. With the
digital flex tester, we will also be able to dial in your wax pocket for classical
skiers. Ski Packages
- We have various ski packages available for Skating and Clasical. Waxless
Skis - Learn more about the waxless ski myth. Ski
Boots & Bindings - The importance of getting a quality ski boot
and binding system.
Determining The Correct Ski Length - The old adage of raising your
arm and having the ski tip come to your wrist is no longer a valid method of measuring
for the right ski length | | |
